The church
Built in 1923 as the chapel of the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity, whose St. Michael's Convent is behind the church. In former years the church was divided into three; the central nave was the sisters' chapel, the further nave for the other occupants of the convent (in accordance with the intentions of their founder, St John Eudes, one of the sisters' works is pastoral and charitable car of women), and the nave the nearest entrance door was for parishioners. With the enormous increase in the Parish population due to post war housing development the whole church was made available to parishioners thanks to the kindness of the sisters.
