Martyr [+304] of Tagora (now an archaeological site in modern Tunisia) much praised by St. Augustine. Called by the proconsul Annius Anullinus to renounce her faith, she said "I shall not sacrifice save to the one true God and to our Lord Jesus Christ his Son, who was born and died." Shaved of her hair, she persisted and when the order for her execution was given, she said to the proconsul: "I bless God who has so deigned to free me from your hands. Thanks be to God."
